Regular Season Round 2: Rawia - Pleszew 47-85

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Rawia (0-1) was smashed by Pleszew (1-1) in Rawicz 85-47 on Sunday. Pleszew held Rawia to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.4 percent accuracy of the winners and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Pleszew outrebounded Rawia 47-28 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Alan Urbaniak (185-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 4 assists. Power forward Lukasz Ptak (202-81) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Pleszew players scored in double figures. Forward Maciej Muskala (195-96) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Szymon Maciolek (190-91) added 11 points in the effort for Rawia. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Pleszew will face Zielona Gora 2 (#4) in Nowa Sol in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rawia will play on the road against AZS PO (#1) in Opole and hope to win that game.
