Regular Season Round 3: Panteras - Atletico 79-60

An interesting game for Panteras (5-0) which hosted Atletico (2-3). Panteras had an easy win 79-60. Panteras forced 26 Atletico turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Ileana Guerrero who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals. Venezuelan Nathaly Malpica accounted for 21 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Point guard Yamila Jonas came up with 15 points and 8 assists and Gisela Young added 3 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals respectively for Atletico in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panteras will meet at home Universitarias (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Atletico will play against Amazonas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
