But Alma TR was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Bologna 92-88 on Sunday night. Virtus Bologna made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Alma TR was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a very good performance for guard Kevin Punter (188-93, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 4 steals (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Point guard Tony Taylor (185-90, college: G.Washington) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) answered with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Devondrick Walker (196-92, college: Tex.A&M-Comm.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Alma TR. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Virtus Bologna will face Armani Milano at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alma TR will play against Fiat TO (#12) in Torino and hope to win that game.
