Regular Season Round 3: Manresa - Joventut 66-67

A very interesting game took place in Manresa. It ended with only one-point home defeat of La ICL Manresa (1-2) to Joventut (1-1) 67-66 on Sunday evening. The guests were already 14 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 30-16 last quarter charge of La ICL Manresa cut the lead to 67-66 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Joventut especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was Argentinian guard Nicolas Laprovittola (190-90) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists. Swedish power forward Simon Birgander (209-97, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Congolese center Jordan Sakho (209-97, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Bosnian point guard Alex Renfroe (191-86, college: Belmont, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Joventut's next round opponent will be Real Madrid on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La ICL Manresa will play against Andorra (#5) and hope to win that game.
