Olimpia Matera used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Reggio Calabria 60-58 on Sunday night. Naturalized Argentinian power forward Enzo Damian Cena (200-92) fired 29 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Daniele Merletto (175-93) chipped in 10 points. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Yande Fall (203-90) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and guard Vittorio Nobile (192-95) added 13 points (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Olimpia Matera will face IUL Tiber (#3) in Roma in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Viola RC will play at home against Palestrina (#5) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
