Groningen smashed Weert at home 90-53. The game without a history. Groningen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Weert's 26. Groningen forced 20 Weert turnovers and outrebounded them 33-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American swingman Jason Dourisseau (196-83, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds. The former international center Thomas Koenis (211-89, agency: Court Side) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Groningen players scored in double figures. American center Tony Washington (208, college: La Salle) answered with 10 points and 5 rebounds and forward Wietze Nossek (201-98) added 11 points in the effort for Weert. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Weert will play next round against Leiden trying to get back on the winning streak. Groningen will try to continue on its current victory against Den Bosch at home.
