The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Correcaminos (4-1) played at the court of Universitarias (0-5). Correcaminos smashed Universitarias 82-46 on Sunday. Correcaminos dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Universitarias' 28. Correcaminos forced 20 Universitarias turnovers and outrebounded them 62-31 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Correcaminos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Veronica Vega (-90) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Guard Lirieth Gonzalez (170-1) contributed with 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Correcaminos' coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Diobelis Batista answered with 19 points and Hermione Hicks added 12 points in the effort for Universitarias. Correcaminos will face Aguilas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Universitarias will play against Panteras and hope to get finally their first victory.
