Regular Season Round 1: Bnei Hertzeliya - H.Jerusalem 73-83
Date: October 7, 2018
Quite upsetting was Bnei Hasharon's (#2) home defeat in a game versus Hapoel Jerusalem 83-73. International point guard Tamir Blatt (182-97) fired 14 points and 9 assists for the winners. American center Josh Owens (206-88, college: Stanford) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). International Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Jerusalem will meet at home Maccabi Rishon (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bnei Hasharon will play against Ironi Nahariya (#4) and hope to win that game.
