But Salerno was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Caserta 68-65 on Sunday night. Salerno was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Argentinian center Marcelo Dip (205-84, agency: Players Group) fired 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Niccolo Petrucci (193-89) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Manuel Diomede (189-90, agency: Two Points) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Deco and four Salerno players scored in double figures. Deco will face Roma Luiss (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Salerno will play against Cuore Napoli and hope to win that game.
