Regular Season Round 1: Olympiacos - Holargos 88-78

We should mention about the upset which took place in Pireus, where Holargos (0-1) lost to Olympiacos (1-0) in a road game 78-88 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Holargos was better in third quarter 28-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Olympiacos shot 24 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Holargos only scored four points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Holargos was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian center Nikola Milutinov (212-94, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Nigel Williams-Goss (191-94, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. The former international Vladimir Jankovic (202-90) produced 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Jermaine Love (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: Octagon Europe) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos will face Kymis on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Holargos will play against Kolossos HH (#12) and hope to win that game.
