Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Defensor (#10) and Bigua (#9). Bigua was defeated at home 91-102 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Defensor looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Anthony-Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) fired 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Corin Henry (181-88, college: Tarleton St., agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. American-Jamaican center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) added 24 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defensor's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Aguada.
