There was a surprise result when Palma (1-1) rolled over Magia Huesca (1-1) in S'Arenal 78-58 on Wednesday. Palma shot 26 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Magia Huesca only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Magia Huesca 42-30 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Magia Huesca was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Raven Barber (206-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import forward Marcus Gilbert (198-93, college: Fairfield) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Estonian center Rauno Nurger (208-93, college: Wichita St.) replied with 12 points and Belgian-American guard Tyler Haws (193-91, college: BYU) added 10 points in the effort for Magia Huesca. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Palma will face Leyma Basquet (#10) in Coruna in the next round where they are favorite. Magia Huesca will play at home against CB Prat (#17) and hope to win that game.
