Regular Season Round 2: Banovici - Triglav 80-83

A very close game took place in Banovici between Slovenian Triglav and Bosnian Banovici. Triglav (1-1) got a very close victory on the road over Banovici (0-2). Triglav managed to escape with a 3-point win 83-80 on Wednesday evening. Banovici was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-20 charge of Triglav, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Guard Urska Zibert (174-93) notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and Maja Jakobcic (184-97) supported her with 17 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Five Triglav players scored in double figures. Even 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by power forward Danira Music (180-89) did not help to save the game for Banovici. Montenegrin center Nikolina Zubac (188-98) added 20 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Triglav will meet at home Beroe (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Banovici will play against Montana 2003 (#4) and hope to win that game.
