The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-87. Stjarnan looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Finnish Antti Kanervo (192-89, agency: Blacktop Management) notched 29 points to lead the effort and the former international power forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) supported him with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds by swingman Snorri Vignisson (193-97) did not help to save the game for Breidablik. American guard Christian Covile (193-93, college: Adrian) added 22 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Breidablik's coach Antonio d'Albero tested twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stjarnan will meet at home Skallagrimur (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Breidablik will play against IR in Reykjavik and hope to win that game.
