Toshiba Thunders delivered the third victory on Friday night. This time they beat Shiga L-Stars (2-2) 76-64 in Kanagawa. The best player for the winners was American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) who scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Shane Edwards (201-87, college: UALR) chipped in 21 points. Toshiba Thunders' coach Takuya Kita used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and international forward Koyo Takahashi (192-94) added 19 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders will face again Shiga L-Stars (#5) at home in the next round.
