Regular Season Round 3: Spirou - Oostende 64-65

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Spirou Charleroi (1-1) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were edged by Oostende (3-0) 65-64. Oostende outrebounded Spirou Charleroi 40-28 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Croatian center Marin Maric (211-94, college: De Paul, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Chase Fieler (203-92, college: FGCU) helped adding 7 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Dario Hunt (206-89, college: Nevada) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Oostende is looking forward to face Antwerp Giants (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spirou Charleroi will play against Okapi Aalstar (#6) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
