Regular Season Round 2: Korihait - Kauhajoki 86-93

Very predictable result when Kauhajoki (3-0) won against UU-Korihait (0-3) in Uusikaupunki 93-86 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 16 points at the halftime before their 59-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kauhajoki made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American-Albanian forward Mike Moser (203-90, college: Oregon) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) supported him with 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Stephon Jelks (198-96, college: Mercer) did not help to save the game for UU-Korihait. His fellow American import guard Mario Edwards (191-88, college: Co.Carolina) added 12 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Five UU-Korihait players scored in double figures. UU-Korihait's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kauhajoki will meet at home BC Nokia (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. UU-Korihait will play against Joensuun Kataja (#4) and hope to win that game.
