Amsterdam (1-1) recorded a loss on the court of Leeuwarden. Visitors were defeated by Leeuwarden 77-65. It looked good early as Amsterdam took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Leeuwarden had a 19-9 second period charge getting the lead and Amsterdam was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-77. Leeuwarden dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Amsterdam's 28. Amsterdam was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Griffin Kinney (203-95, college: Appalachian St., agency: Court Side) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Nick Masterson (198-95, college: Kennesaw St.) supported him with 18 points and 5 steals. Even 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists by the former international point guard Aaron Roye (184-88) did not help to save the game for Amsterdam. The former international swingman Dimeo Van Der Horst (197-91) added 24 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Leeuwarden will play against Weert (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Amsterdam will play against Den Bosch (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
