There was no surprise when Hapoel Eilat (0-2) was defeated at home by Maccabi T-A (2-0) 83-70 on Saturday. Maccabi T-A made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Maccabi T-A made 7 blocks. American forward Tarik Black (206-91, college: Kansas) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Johnny O'Bryant III (205-93, college: LSU) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A's coach Neven Spahija used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Elijah Bryant (196-95, college: BYU, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 21 points and forward Avichai Ben-Chimol (193-96) scored 10 points, 9 assists and 4 steals.
