There was a surprise result in Arenys del Mar where tenth ranked Arenys (2-2) smashed higher ranked Barbera (2-2) 88-60 on Saturday. Arenys looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by Barbera's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Manel Signes (200-0) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Aritz Tomas (190-86) who added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side Senegalese center Mamadou Diagne (208-98, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and power forward David Martinez (205-96) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Arenys moved-up to sixth place in Group C-B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Barbera. Arenys will face Martinenc (#13) in Barcelona in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
