Regular Season Round 4: Miraflores - Univ.Valladolid 79-75

Date: October 13, 2018
Everything could happen in Burgos at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Miraflores and bottom-ranked Univ.Valladolid had identical 0-0 record. This time Miraflores used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Valladolid 79-75 on Saturday night. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-A. Miraflores had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. Univ.Valladolid was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Victor Aguilar (185-98) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Montenegrin forward Igor Cvorovic (206-96) who added 17 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Javier Martinez (187-97) responded with 18 points and point guard Alejandro Pescador (180-97) scored 16 points. Univ.Valladolid's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Miraflores (1-0) keeps a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Univ.Valladolid still closes the standings with one game lost. Miraflores will face Ordizia-Basoa (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Univ.Valladolid will play against Mondragon and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
