Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Goierri and bottom-ranked Solares had identical 0-0 record. This time Goierri used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Solares 100-83 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-A. Goierri shot 61.5 percent from the field. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Aitor De Miguel (186-83) who helped to win the game recording 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Inigo Lasa (-98) who added 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side point guard Daniel Contreras (180-0) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American power forward RJ Freeman (205-95, college: Pikeville) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Solares' coach Amador Diaz rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Goierri (1-0) keeps a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Solares at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with one game lost. Goierri will face league's second-placed Gallofa in Santander in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Solares will play at home against the league's leader Ardoi (#1) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
