Regular Season Round 5: Tokyo Z - Toyotsu FE 83-94

An interesting game was also home defeat of 3rd ranked Tokyo Z in a game versus Toyotsu FE (#2) 94-83. They made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Toyotsu FE shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated also this game. Center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) accounted for 23 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Toyotsu FE's coach Ryuji Watanabe used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for Tokyo Z in the defeat. Four Toyotsu FE and five Tokyo Z players scored in double figures. Toyotsu FE maintains second place with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Cyberdyne IR, which they share with 3 other teams. Tokyo Z lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with Shimane SM and Fukushima. Toyotsu FE will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo Z will play again against the league's second-placed Toyotsu FE and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
