Rather expected game when Uppsala Basket (0-5) was defeated on the road by Koping Stars (2-2) 101-92 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 15 points after three quarters before their 29-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Koping Stars forced 19 Uppsala Basket turnovers and had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Aleksa Solevic (188-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international swingman Sean Smith (198-87, college: NC-Asheville) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Five Koping Stars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Axel Nordstrom (193-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Xavier Cannefax (188-89, college: Warner Pacific) added 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Koping Stars will meet Umea (#9) on the road in the next round. Uppsala Basket will play against Nassjo where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
