Regular Season Round 4: Hitachi SR - Hokkaido L. 67-66

A very close game took place in Tokyo between Hitachi Sunrockers and Hokkaido L.. Fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (1-3) got a very close home victory over one of their biggest challengers Hokkaido L. (2-2). Hitachi Sunrockers managed to escape with a 1-point win 67-66 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hokkaido L.. The winners were led by American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who scored that evening 18 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) supported him with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Even 27 points and 6 rebounds by Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) did not help to save the game for Hokkaido L.. Guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) added 12 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hitachi Sunrockers left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with San-en. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Hitachi Sunrockers will meet at home Akita Happinets (#6) in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
