Regular Season Round 4: Benahavis - Huelva 70-64
Date: October 13, 2018
There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Benahavis (1-1) defeated at home one of their biggest challengers Huelva (1-1) 70-64 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Benahavis made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jermaine Sanders (196-92, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds and Mali-American forward Mamadou Diakite (196-93, college: Immaculata) who added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Diakite attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Four Benahavis players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward B.J. Gladden (198-95, college: Georgia South) responded with 18 points and his fellow American import forward Davante McCallam (203-91, college: Chadron St.) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Benahavis left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Group D-B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Huelva. Benahavis will face league's second-placed Cordobasket on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Huelva will play against Real Betis II and hope to win that game.
