Regular Season Round 3: Varese - Scrivia 47-60

Very predictable result when Scrivia (3-0) beat on the road Varese (0-3) 60-47 on Saturday. Scrivia forced 29 Varese turnovers. Strangely Varese outrebounded Scrivia 42-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was swingman Irene Pieropan (175-91) who scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Claudia Colli (176-96) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. Five Scrivia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Alessandra Visconti (187-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and forward Francesca Sorrentino (179-98) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Varese's coach Lilli Ferri tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Scrivia will face Alpo VF in Verona in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Varese will play on the road against Ponzano (#13) in Veneto and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
