Very expected game when Maccabi Rishon (0-2) was defeated on the road by Hapoel Jerusalem (2-0) 94-76 on Saturday. Hapoel Jerusalem dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Rishon's 30. Hapoel Jerusalem forced 20 Maccabi Rishon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Dominican-American James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Lior Eliyahu (205-85) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach David-Oded Kattache used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Cameron Long (192-88, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 20 points and his fellow American import forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem will meet Ironi Nes-Ziona (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Rishon will play against Ironi Nahariya (#9) and hope to win that game.
