Regular Season Round 2: Groningen - Den Bosch 80-75

The most important game of round 2 took place in Groningen where Groningen beat Den Bosch (2-1) 80-75 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Den Bosch won fourth quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Den Bosch 33-20 including 21 on the defensive glass. Naturalized American swingman Jason Dourisseau (196-83, college: Nebraska) scored 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Thomas Koenis (211-89, agency: Court Side) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Groningen's coach Erik Braal used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta, agency: Interperformances) responded with 19 points and his fellow American import forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) scored 12 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Den Bosch will play next round against Amsterdam trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Groningen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
