Regular Season Round 5: Boulazac - Le Mans 69-74

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Boulazac Basket (2-3) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Le Mans (4-1) 74-69 on Saturday. Le Mans made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Demitrius Conger (196-90, college: St.Bonaventure) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern) chipped in 15 points. Canadian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and Dutch center Nicolas de-Jong (210-88) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Dijon. Loser Boulazac Basket dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Le Mans will face Gravelines-Dunkerque (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Boulazac Basket will play against JSF Nanterre (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
