LPB top team - Panteras (7-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Atletico (3-4) 79-64. Panteras forced 28 Atletico turnovers. Venezuelan point guard Nathaly Malpica fired 21 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Guard Ileana Guerrero chipped in 17 points and 4 steals. Point guard Yamila Jonas produced 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Ericka Gonzalez added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panteras have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-0 record. Atletico lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Aguilas. Panteras will meet at home league's second-placed Correcaminos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atletico will play against Aguilas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
