Regular Season Round 2: HNMKY - Rocks 67-77

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Helsinki: Rocks (#4) and HNMKY (#8). HNMKY was defeated at home 67-77 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Rocks. HNMKY managed to win third quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded HNMKY 51-38 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bashkim Grepi (185-0) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Eemeli Laaksonen (186-0) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Rocks players scored in double figures. Guard Markus Kataja (188-0) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and center Max Besselink (197-2) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. HNMKY's coach Timo Saukkola tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rocks' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki Sykki.
