Regular Season Round 5: Sorgues BC - Kaysersberg 85-80

Very expected game when 10th ranked Kaysersberg (1-4) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Sorgues BC (4-1) 85-80 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sorgues BC made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Cecil Williams (198, college: Cent.Michigan) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). His fellow American import forward Wayne Morris (198-77, college: Shippensburg) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Senegalese forward Elson Mendy (200-85) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Canadian-British forward Jermel Kennedy (201-89, college: Lander) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sorgues BC. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A. Kaysersberg lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Sorgues BC will face Feurs EF (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kaysersberg will play against the league's second-placed Saint-Quentin and hope to win that game.
