Regular Season Round 3: Gornik Walbrzych - Enea Astoria 76-66

Gornik used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Bydgoszcz 76-66 on Saturday night. Gornik forced 21 Enea Astoria turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Enea Astoria was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Marcin Wrobel (200-87) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Marcin Nowakowski (184-89) who recorded 15 points and 4 assists and Pawel Spica (190-93) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gornik will face WKK Wroclaw (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Enea Astoria will play against Biofarm PZN and hope to win that game.
