Regular Season Round 4: Sparta - Larochette 97-72
Date: October 13, 2018
Everything could happen in Bertrange at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Sparta and 8th ranked Larochette had identical 1-2 record. This time Sparta used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Larochette 97-72. Sparta players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Larochette's players. It was a very good performance for American power forward Rashad Hassan (203-89, college: Savannah St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international Dean Gindt (201-91) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American Desmond Williams (199-91, college: S.Connecticut) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks and his fellow American import guard Chris Walters (193, college: S.New Hampshire) added 19 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Larochette. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sparta (2-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Basket Esch. Newly promoted Larochette dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Sparta's next round opponent will be Kordall Steelers (#8) in Rodange. Larochette will play at home against the league's leader Racing and hope to win that game.
