Regular Season Round 5: Ehime OV - Cyberdyne IR 77-75

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Cyberdyne IR (5-1) in Matsuyama on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by sixth ranked Orange Vikings (1-5) 77-75. Orange Vikings looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Cyberdyne IR. Five Cyberdyne IR players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Orange Vikings maintains sixth place with 1-5 record, which they share with Nishinomiya S. and Aomori Watts. Cyberdyne IR at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Orange Vikings is again looking forward to face league's leader Cyberdyne IR in Tsukuba in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cyberdyne IR will have a break next round.
