Regular Season Round 5: Besancon - Saint Vallier 60-87

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Besancon (3-2) was crushed at home by seventh ranked Saint Vallier (3-2) 87-60 on Saturday. Saint Vallier forced 24 Besancon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Parfait NJiba (199-89, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Jesse Delhomme (189-85) chipped in 19 points. Five Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier's coach Arnaud Ricoux felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lithuanian forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Saint Vallier moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with defeated Besancon. Saint Vallier will face league's leader Orchesien BC in Orchies in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Besancon will play at home against Recy Saint-Martin (#8) and hope to win that game.
