There was a surprise result when Viola RC (1-1) beat Palestrina (1-1) in Reggio Calabria 81-64 on Sunday. Forward Mattia Mastroianni (200-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. Guard Filippo Alessandri (190-89) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Viola RC players scored in double figures. Viola RC's coach Matteo Mecacci used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized Argentinian power forward Ignacio Ochoa (202-79) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Nelson Rizzitiello (198-84) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Palestrina. Viola RC will face Battipaglia (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
