There was a minor upset in Brindisi where VL Pesaro (1-1) was defeated by Happy Casa BR (1-1) 88-73 on Sunday. Happy Casa BR forced 20 VL Pesaro turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward John Brown-III (201-92, college: High Point) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Happy Casa BR players scored in double figures. Happy Casa BR's coach Francesco Vitucci used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Dominic Artis (192-93, college: UTEP) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Erik McCree (203-93, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 24 points. Happy Casa BR will face Banco di Srd (#7) in Sassari in the next round. VL Pesaro will play on the road against Umana Venezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
