Regular Season Round 2: Politechn.Gd. - Sleza Wroclaw 51-83

There was no surprise when Politechnika Gdanska (0-2) was crushed at home by Sleza Wroclaw (2-0) 83-51 on Sunday. Sleza Wroclaw dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Politechnika Gdanska's 32. They outrebounded Politechnika Gdanska 41-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. Sleza Wroclaw looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American Cierra Burdick (188-93, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American guard Marissa Kastanek (175-90, college: NC State) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Five Sleza Wroclaw players scored in double figures. American guard Maegan Conwright (173-92, college: Florida St.) responded with 13 points and Finnish forward Annika Holopainen (185-93, college: ODU) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sleza Wroclaw will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Politechnika Gdanska will play against Artego Bydg. (#4) and hope to win that game.
