LPB top team - Panteras (7-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Universitarias (0-6) 67-53. Panteras forced 19 Universitarias turnovers. It was a very good performance for Venezuelan point guard Nathaly Malpica who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Guard Ileana Guerrero contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Panteras' coach let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Hermione Hicks replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 19 rebounds and Naikelys Martinez added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Universitarias. Panteras have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-0 record. Newly promoted Universitarias still closes the standings with six games lost. Panteras' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Correcaminos and it will be for sure the game of the week. Universitarias will play against Amazonas (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
