Regular Season Round 4: Carbajosa - PBB 88-80

Date: October 14, 2018
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Carbajosa and bottom-ranked PBB had identical 0-0 record. This time Carbajosa used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Porrino 88-80 on Sunday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-B. Carbajosa outrebounded PBB 46-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. PBB was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Rafael Casanova (195-93, college: Florida Tech) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Gabriel Roman (185-97) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side Jorge Cabaleiro responded with 23 points and 4 assists and point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Five Carbajosa and four PBB players scored in double figures. PBB's coach Jenaro Alonso rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Carbajosa (1-0) keeps a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted PBB still closes the standings with one game lost. Carbajosa will face Culleredo (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. PBB will play against Rosalia (#13) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
