Regular Season Round 4: Palma II - Martinenc 86-79

There was a minor upset in S'Arenal where 11th ranked Martinenc (1-3) was defeated by bottom-ranked Palma II (1-3) 86-79 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alberto Garcia (192-87) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 assists and 5 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Uruguayan-Italian forward Matias Guerra (201-92) who added 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Angel Garcia (-88) responded with 27 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and point guard Pau Mayor (-96) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Martinenc players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Palma II left bottom position moving up to tenth place in Group C-B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Martinenc. Palma II will face higher ranked JAC Sants (#3) in Barcelona in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Martinenc will play at home against Arenys (#6) and hope to win that game.
