UCAM Murcia has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Burgos (1-3) 72-62. The game was mostly controlled by UCAM Murcia. Burgos was better in third quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when UCAM Murcia won last quarter 22-13. UCAM Murcia outrebounded Burgos 38-26 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (189-90, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 11 points and British Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) supported him with 11 points. Even 10 points and 7 rebounds by Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) did not help to save the game for Burgos. American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UCAM Murcia (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Burgos at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with three games lost. They share it with Fuenlabrada and Gran Canaria. UCAM Murcia will play against higher ranked Baskonia (#3) in Vitoria in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Burgos will play at home against Leche Rio Breogan (#11) to get more than just one victory in their record.
