The most surprising game was a loss of Openjobmetis VA (1-1) in Sassari on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Banco di Srd (1-1) 71-60. Banco di Srd outrebounded Openjobmetis VA 43-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Kosovan-American swingman Scott Bamforth (188-89, college: Weber St., agency: BeoBasket) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Rashawn Thomas (203-94, college: Texas A&M-CC) chipped in 10 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Banco di Srd players scored in double figures. Serbian swingman Aleksa Avramovic (192-94, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 19 points and 4 steals and American point guard Ronald Moore (183-88, college: Siena) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Banco di Srd is looking forward to face Happy Casa BR (#5) in Brindisi in the next round. Openjobmetis VA will play at home against Dolomiti En. TR and is hoping to win this game.
