Regular Season Round 4: Agustinos-Leclerc - Ponferrada CDP 98-109

Everything could happen in Leon at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Ponferrada CDP and one of their biggest challengers Agustinos-Leclerc had identical 0-0 record. But Agustinos-Leclerc was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Ponferrada 109-98 on Sunday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-B. Ponferrada CDP outrebounded Agustinos-Leclerc 45-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian swingman Taevaunn Prince (191-91, college: Missouri So.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 9 rebounds and American Sean Mcdonell who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Ponferrada CDP players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Miguel Dominguez (197-95) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and point guard Rodrigo Cachon (180-99) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ponferrada CDP (1-0) keeps a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Agustinos-Leclerc still closes the standings with one game lost. Ponferrada CDP will face Un.Oviedo (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Agustinos-Leclerc will play against the league's second-placed Chantada (#2) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
