The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Valmiera as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Valmiera smashed 14th ranked East Ball at home 75-49. The game without a history. Valmiera led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to East Ball's 22. Valmiera forced 24 East Ball turnovers. It was a good game for Eriks Zalans who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 5 rebounds. Arturs Pirro contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Kokins replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Aleksis Gaidamovics added 17 points in the effort for East Ball. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valmiera have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Saule and Skuodo. East Ball at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Meshcheryakov.
