Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Riga: BJBS Riga (#7) and BJBS/Ridzene (#2). BJBS Riga (2-1) crushed visiting BJBS/Ridzene (3-2) by 16 points 72-56. The game without a history. BJBS Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to BJBS/Ridzene's 28. BJBS Riga forced 22 BJBS/Ridzene turnovers. Strangely BJBS/Ridzene outrebounded BJBS Riga 47-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Edvards Lucis (180-0) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Point guard Ralfs Vartins (191-0) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four BJBS Riga players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Reinis Solzemnieks (185-1) who recorded 7 points and 11 rebounds and guard Roberts Kapostins (186-0) added 10 points respectively. BJBS/Ridzene's coach let to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. BJBS Riga's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riga to the arena Jugla.
