Important game to mention about took place in Coruna. Palma (2-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging Leyma Basquet (1-2) 79-76 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was a great evening for center Fran Guerra (214-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Marcus Gilbert (198-93, college: Fairfield) helped adding 16 points. Palma's coach Felix Alonso used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Pablo Ferreiro (187-98) scored 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Palma and five Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. Palma will face Carramimbre (#7) in Valladolid in the next round. Leyma Basquet will play on the road against CB Prat (#18) and hope to win that game.
