Regular Season Round 4: Umea - Koping Stars 104-83

Umea can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Koping Stars (2-3) 104-83 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 104-83. Umea dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Koping Stars' 38. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Umea looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Egal Saleman (201-88) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Omar Krayem (186-88, college: Cal.Baptist, agency: Interperformances) who added 24 points, 6 assists and 5 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Umea players scored in double figures. Umea's coach Jesper Gustavsson felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Serbian guard Aleksa Solevic (188-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and Niklas Larsson (199-94) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Umea maintains ninth position with 1-4 record. Newly promoted Koping Stars keep the seventh place with three games lost. Umea will meet league's leader Sodertalje Kings on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Koping Stars will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
